PFP has a wonderful team of family doctors, including a prenatal coordinator, who work together to provide you and your baby the most comprehensive maternity care.  We also have a state-of-the-art Ultrasound machine on-site for your convenience.  Our physicians specialize in excellent family-centered maternity care. We can provide for your healthcare needs before, during, and after your pregnancy as well as the best ongoing care for your baby, and the rest of your family.   All of our doctors and nurse practitioners provide pediatric and family care

You will see your physician for most, if not all, of your prenatal appointments. We believe that you get the best care by developing a relationship with your own doctor and are committed to making every effort to have your doctor attend the birth of your baby.

Our prenatal coordinator will arrange your initial appointments with your doctor, and schedule a 30 minute telephone prescreen appointment. During this telephone appointment you will discuss in detail your medical history. This will help prepare the doctor for your appointment, and assist them in determining and addressing immediate needs or concerns prior to your first  appointment.

We encourage you to bring whomever you wish to your prenatal care appointments.

These appointments will usually be scheduled as follows:

•  Initial Visit/First Trimester:

       Around weeks 8-10, earlier if any questions or concerns

•  Second Trimester (weeks 12-27): 

Appointments every four weeks

•  Third Trimester (weeks 28-42):

Appointments every two weeks from 32-36 weeks, then once a week until you deliver

•  Post Partum

Release of Medical Records

Please complete, initial, and sign a 'Release of  medical records' for the hospital you plan to deliver at.  We will keep the signed authorization form on file in your chart at Portland Family Practice.

There is also a 'Release of medical records for family/friends', if you’d like someone to share in your healthcare.

Our clinic hours are daily, Monday through Friday.  There are often urgent-care Saturday morning appointments, as well as doctors on call 24 hours a day for emergencies. If you have an urgent concern after hours, call the main office number and the answering service will connect you to the doctor on call.
